Embedded World is probably the biggest event in the world dedicated to embedded system development. It took place in Nuremberg, Germany from the 27th February – 1st March 2018.
The exhibition includes just about anything connected with embedded design. This year, in six exhibition halls, 1021 companies from 38 countries showed more than 32217 embedded experts from 78 countries where IoT and the world digitization is leading to. Besides, the conferences had 2176 participants and speakers from 52 countries.
I visited the fair on the 26th and 27th February, thanks to my employer, and was blown away by the sheer size of the exhibition and crowd it gathered. Starting from the LCD’s, to construction elements, modules and complete SoC’s of various capabilities, computer vision solutions, through operating systems and software solutions and services, the fair covered all aspects of embedded systems.
I was mostly interested in Bluetooth Low Energy and ANT modules, and was not disappointed by exhibitors like Nordic Semiconductors, Dialog Semiconductors, Silabs, Cypress, Texas Instruments and others.
Conferences covered topics such as IoT OS and platforms, embedded vision, security and safety, embedded OS, hardware and software engineering, autonomous systems, etc…
I even took some pictures, shown in gallery below.
